[Mukuro rotated his arm in his socket, one hand placed against the joint as if to keep it in place, expression amused.]

Kufufu you look about the same as a sack of potatoes that I've had to carry before. It shouldn't be difficult.

[Wow comparing a lady to a sack of potatoes good job Mukuro. Still, he won't even joke about manual labor for too long, instead starting forward into the rock terrain, which would soon give way to a forest. The area was familiar, and soon they'd come to a path that might be easier on her.]

Have you been on land before?

[Jeez. The next time she listens to some jerk promising her gold, maybe she should pick a human with some decent manners to go along with it.]

[MM follows him with only mild grumbling, arms crossed and hands tucked against her sides where the comfort of the jacket is worth at least something. Her attention flicks to the trees often enough, seeming to find them new and thus a source of wariness, but she always makes sure to return her gaze to Mukuro's back.]

Aaah, maybe once or twice. I'd have next to nothing if I just waited for ships to crash that happened to have valuables.

Kufufufu who would insult their savior they're indebted to?

[Mukuro Rokudo, that's who. And let's be honest, any human would have better manners than him.

He followed the path easily enough, pace moderate and steady, stretching slightly as he went. The boat had been cramped, as had the holding cell before that, and it felt good to be able to walk freely again.

That answer caught Mukuro's attention, his gaze turning back towards her.]

How dull. I would have thought sirens would have more to look forward to.

[Maybe she should have stayed by the water... Just so that there was a place where she could drown him a little when his mouth got smart. Oh well. Hindsight is what it is. At least she's not petty enough to start throwing rocks at the back of his head.]

Quality over quantity- I'd rather expand my hoard than any of the other little things out there that don't make me look good.

[She would have been doing the world a favor if she had decided to drown him, but ah well mistakes were made every day. Mukuro shot her a wry look at that, but for once decided not to comment.]

I find it hard to believe there are things that don't become you.

[The path was starting to give way to something that was better paved, the village coming into view. It would be dawn soon, but Mukuro was planning to steal a few necessities and be long gone before the first villager awoke.]

Flattery won't get you everywhere~.

[But she's obviously quite pleased about the appeal to her vanity. So he does learn. Good to know!]

[As the road becomes better paved, MM seems to contemplate the approaching village. She's starting to frown again. Not because she's worried, but...]

You know, I'm getting pretty hungry. You were supposed to be my meal.

[Because that came to him just as easily. He was in the middle of snagging a few clothes that looked like they would fit M.M. when she spoke again. He held out a few dresses to her, still intent on finding shoes. He didn't look too disturbed by that, instead chuckling. It shouldn't surprise him that a jewelry obsessed siren would be such high maintenance.]

Shoes first. If we have to run, I don't want your feet getting cut up.

[As if she hadn't just made a threat, MM takes the clothing offered and holds it closer to herself as she glances down to it. Human fashion is full of intricacies. So much so, in fact, that one could call it needlessly complicated. But then, that was the history of their people, wasn't it? Needlessly complicated, forever and always.]

[Still. If she's going to wear their clothing, she's going to look good in it.]

Make sure they're nice. And hm... Humans would be best, but enough with enough fat or meat to it is fine, I guess.

Kufufufu and throw away your chance for riches? Unlikely.

[Though Mukuro would still be careful about resting around her regardless. It was a good thing his need for sleep was less than most.

He snorted at the command, as if somehow he would choose something that wouldn't be fitting, but didn't argue other than that. The stipulations made him pause as he looked around the small village thoughtfully, eyes resting on a few pigs sleeping peacefully nearby.]

Does it have to be cooked?

....I thought you were smart.

[Where, in the middle of the ocean, would it be advisable to cook meat without a fire going out. Why bother. This is so dumb.]

[Look he has to eat too okay, though if she can't eat something that's been cooked, ladies can go first. He brushed aside the irritation he felt, instead pointing over to the innocent pigs sleeping besides each other in a little pen.]

Those. But eating them raw isn't appealing to me.

Oh, you're eating too?

[She'd forgotten humans needed to do that. Usually they're dead before she has to worry about that kind of thing.]

[Shit it's like having to watch out for a pet.]

[Making her way over to the pent, she shoves up one sleeve away from her still clawed hand. She prrrrobably shouldn't get blood on this, considering how he'd told her to clean up before.]

How much do you eat anyway?

[Rude, M.M. was definitely the pet in this scenario.

He followed after her, using one of the dresses that she hadn't liked to scoop up and wrap the pig up. It made a minimal amount of noise, but Mukuro was already heading towards the edge of town. He only paused to nod over to a pair of shoes sitting on the outside steps of a house that looked like they would fit M.M.]

A leg or two would suffice. You can have the rest.

[Which wasn't as much as a whole person, but that might be easier to take care of in a larger town.]

[How clever. She was just going to tear out the vocal chords in one scoop so it wouldn't make noise, but this works too. Tugging back down her sleeve, she slips her feet into the mentioned shoes and follows after him. Her walk then becomes a bit more awkward, uncertain in a way.]

[Having feet are one thing. Shoes just make the whole experience even stranger.]

What a light eater. No wonder you're so skinny.

[At that awkward gait, Mukuro would glance over his shoulder to look at her, amused.]

Should I carry you as well little piggy?

[Yup, still shit talking his savior oops.

The 'light eater' comment almost sounded like a compliment, so he chuckled briefly at that, heading deeper into the woods. He wanted a bit of distance before they slaughtered the pig.]

I'll take that as a compliment. If I wasn't such a light eater, I might not have been able to negotiate with you.

[Human insults may not be a thing she's completely familiar with, but this one is so obvious that even something nonhuman can get it. Aiming with her feet is also new, but that doesn't keep MM from making a rather spirited attempt at slipping her shoe off and kicking it at the back of Mukuro's head.]

Whoops~! [As if she hadn't just tried to do that-] So what else do weird little humans like you take as a compliment then?

[The response was to be expected, and Mukuro would have caught it if his hands weren't fully of a struggling pig, but nonetheless he managed to avoid the shoe, laughing at the attempt.]

You should take better care of your things.

[The question however, had Mukuro turning to face her, amusement written all over his face.]

My, my. Preparing praise for me even before you've seen your rewards? What foresight.

I do, this just isn't mine~.

[So she can use it for attempted bludgeoning without guilt. Casual theft is such a great thing. Still off balance, she bends down to grab her shoe when they pass it and brandishes it like a weapon.]

Who says the praise is for you? Maybe I'll find a prettier human boy who knows when to shut his mouth.

Would it be better if it was covered in gold or jewels?

[He didn't seem too impressed or worried about her 'weapon', deciding that they had come far enough from the village to stop, tying the pig so it hung trapped from a nearby branch. He started gathering up sticks, piling them neatly and surrounding them with stones.]

Kufufufu if I knew how to shut my mouth, you wouldn't get rewarded.

[As for prettier. Well, Mukuro knew that was an impossibility but it was cute of M.M. to believe such a creature existed.]

Mmmm, that'd definitely be an improvement...

[It would also be uncomfortable to walk in, probably, if it was made out of pure gold. Still. Mammon wouldn't be walking in that kind of thing a lot. Just one more addition for the hoard.]

[As they come to a stop, she drops the shoe and nudges out of the remaining one, feeling much more at ease. Approaching the dangling pig, she gives a malicious giggle.]

Oh, is your mouth the reason you get into so much trouble?

I'll see if Chikusa can sew some onto a pair for you, when we meet with them.

[There was a larger town a day or two down the road, and once there, Mukuro would be able to send word to his faithful followers. Most likely they had been tracking the ship, and shouldn't be too far behind. He could have them stop by one of his many safehouses to retrieve enough treasure to sate the siren, if all went well.

He tilted his head to the side to glance back at her with a neutral expression at that, though his eyes glittered ominously.]

Among other things. [Then, before that could properly sink in:] Take care of the pig, if you please.

[Since she had those convenient claws.]

[Chikusa, huh? A name she'll have to keep in mind, and see if she can attach to a face whenever they reach their destination. At least, he sounds handy if nothing else.]

Heeey, you know that boys who keep secrets from pretty girls won't get to keep all their teeth, either.

[AKA she's not being put off topic, and she is absolutely threatening him again. Whether to punctuate her point or just get down to business, she sinks her claws straight into the pig's fat throat. It takes a few more attempts, blood splattering down into the grass, before she finally seems to get the voice box completely.]

Aren't you only interested in my gold? What else matters?

[If he was supposed to be cowed by the display of violence and strength as M.M. tore out the squealing pig's throat, it wouldn't phase him.]

Cut off the two legs you don't want. The rest is yours.

I can have my bonuses too, can't I? Or do you really know nothing about girls? Absolutely pitiful.

[She'll take mocking if threats don't work, really. Staying quiet would just be boring. The legs closest to her get cut and tugged off, tossed over to him lazily.]

He waved one at her in thanks, starting the fire quickly, and soon the smell of roasting pig was going to start wafting over.]
