[Wobbling in the boat, Tsuna clenches hard to the bench and gives a nod.]

[With a nod and a thumbs up, he begins to take the boat and swims out towards the middle of the lake.

The ride was smooth... but it was slow. And long.]

[Long enough to make Tsuna fidgety, fingers kneading into his pants.]

So. Um. Have you always lived around here?

Not always. I originally lived further north, but when someone discovered a mermaid, it quickly became unsafe.

[They finally got there, the boat against the little wooden square floating in the water.]

So, I came down here to find safety. So far, so good.

Well... It's good that things are working out for you here...

[The town feels so far away, out here in the water, and he resists glancing back at it too hard.]

If you go to any aquarium up there, you'll see exhibits of mermaids... and skeletons of mermaids. At least that's what I've heard.

[He shakes his head and leans against the wood.]

[And something he can't really answer, either, one way or another. Tsuna can't remember the last time he'd been to an aquarium, or read about it. For a moment, he wonders what he'd find if he did do research. Surely no one would do anything to something that's half human, that can talk, would they?]

I have no idea if they're still floating around up there... I left for safety very quickly.

[And he's not interested in going back any time soon.]

[He chuckled and moved up a bit to peck him on the nose.]

[It's hard to say if it's the compliment or the nose kiss that makes Tsuna squeak in surprise, flailing backwards and crashing onto the floor of the boat. As it shakes, he tries to sit up again.]

[Grimsley still has the boat steady and he grins, looking at Tsuna.]

Sorry, did I surprise you?

[Still a bit pink, he rubs at his face.]

Is... Is that a normal thing your race does to strangers?

[He grins and moves a bit closer.]

I've been living here so far... you wouldn't believe what some people leave on the beach for food.
