You've been cordially invited...

It's been over three years since Kuroo Tetsurou and Tsukishima Kei first started going out, not too long after the reticent blond joined the former in the same college. Not a fact that they've been blaring from the rooftops, but something that neither have really hidden, either, especially after they moved in together around half a year into the relationship. The casual mention in conversation, the pictures and statuses on social media- it's never been a secret.
Still. For some, a few months ago, the wedding invitation coming in the mail was no doubt a surprise.
It's a western style wedding, to the surprise of no one. Traditional style just isn't in the budget for a pair of college students still working hard on their degrees, even with the help of their respective families. That means a quick ceremony before going elsewhere for reception, something made a lot easier by the fact that the ceremony isn't far from the hotel where the reception had been booked. Don't ask what witchcraft or connections the two of them managed for that.
Unsurprising considering the care both grooms can show off when it suits them, the reception area is classy, awash in cool colors with pale white lights guiding people to the various tables where placecards let them know who sits where. Of course, for the main wedding party consisting of the happy couple, their family, and the best men (Bokuto and Yamaguchi, to the surprise of no one), there's a table right at the front of it all where the light is brightest.
And not just because the new couple seem so happy about it all, either.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the food which gets served out, the only tradition being sekihan while everything is a mix of Japanese and European recipes. Enjoy it all- this place is well practiced in holding wedding receptions, and so the food is pretty good, not to mention the open bar for the adults in attendance.
Of course, no wedding would be complete without a cake, white chocolate and strawberries put together expertly. Special attention to the toppers (at least before a certain groom steals the top portion away, and thus them with it): a small plastic black cat that looks extraordinarily pleased that's in direct contrast to the offensively yellow and inaccurate rubber stegosaurus besides it.
For those who don't have two left feet (or maybe even them if they simply don't care), a space has been cleared out and illuminated in the center while music plays. Newlyweds get the first dance, obviously, but after that, it's anyone's game, and you're more than free to make requests to the DJ.
It's a wedding. Enjoy yourselves, congratulate the couple, try not to get too drunk.
[OOC: With the exception of the two grooms (

Groom #1 - Kuroo Kei (ota)
[This? This does.]
[In the years since he first started high school all the way up until this moment, Kei has changed a little bit. The usual things that happen, when you take your lumps as a teenager and grow up into an adult (or at least, someone pretending to be an adult, and still fumbling along): a little more mature, a little better at working with people, all of that. Hell, the fact that he's getting married says legions about it as it is, considering how he'd always been a little leery (to put it lightly) about making commitments even though he'd managed to overcome it about things like volleyball. Sure, he's still ultimately himself with a sharp mind and a sharp tongue, but he's a little better in a lot of areas.]
[However, the small and actually genuine smile he has on his face seems leaps and bounds from how he normally is at any other moment. He doesn't even notice it, probably, but it's there, and maybe never so strong as when he's glancing at his new husband.]
[Feel free to run into him anywhere.]
A - /casual nerd screeching (Pre-Vows)
[Of course, before he's gone down the aisle, Kei can be found quietly flipping his shit in the small waiting area for grooms, pacing back and forth and looking nervous as all hell although he's clearly doing his damnedest to keep it in check... which means it must be horrendously bad if it's getting past even his ability to aggressively repress his emotions.]
[Feel free to approach him, although if you're not someone particularly close, he might just rebuff you.]
B - wow I wonder who chose the cake (reception, dinner)
[It's still sort of amusing to him, to pick something like sekihan- is that kind of old wives' tale really important to keep up with in these days? But, on one hand, if they had to have anything traditional, something pink definitely matches the cake.]
[The top of which he absolutely absconded with, shamelessly smirking when Kuroo- Tetsurou, now, he guesses, since he has the same name himself- had laughed at him. He hasn't eaten it yet, since there's still the main courses to go through, but boy, is he waiting for it. Feel free to heckle him while he's at the table, however. Or congratulate him. Or be bewildered at the undeniably fond looks he's sending that stegosaurus toy, despite his long history of being exasperated by inaccuracy in dinosaur toys.]
C - groom bothering (general catch all)
[He's the groom- you can find him just about anywhere or easy to bother. Alternatively, you can bother him after the wedding at some point. I'm willing and flexible for a lot of things. I'm also good for doing prose, and anyone doing multiple threads with me. LET'S GO WILD, HELL YEAH]
b
He remembers Kei as he was when they first met; cruelly antagonistic, purposely pushing the buttons that would incite the wrong kind of fire in his teammates for his own amusement. He remembers Kei changing, subtly, after their training camp in Tokyo, and growing so much more after that. He remembers the final match of the Spring High qualifiers, when they were up against Shiratorizawa and their unstoppable ace, and how Kei was the one who won the match for Karasuno with his critical eye and quick thinking. Some of the greatest memories Asahi has come from that time; going to Nationals in his last year of high school with a team of people he loved -- and he has Kei to thank for that.
This is the thought he holds onto as he braves the crowd and approaches his former kouhai, who towers above him now more than ever.]
Congratulations, Kuroo-san.

Don’t say that too often in front of him. He’s getting way too into it.
It’s nice to see you again, Asahi-san.

[And totally not anything to do with sentiment.]
Anyway… That’s fine, and thanks. It’d be a little embarrassing if I didn’t look halfway decent at my own wedding, right?
no subject
But you always look at least halfway decent; today you're just... more. I think it's the smile.
no subject
[For a second, he almost looks like an awkward teenager again, nose scrunching up and shoulders rising a little higher.]
It’s just a smile… It’s not that weird or anything.
[Someone hasn’t seen himself in the mirror lately.]
no subject
How often did you ever used to smile, Kei?
no subject
[What do you mean devious pointed smirks and guffawing weren’t really smiles…]

You can thank Kuroo for the invitation decision, by the way. He still thinks he’s hilarious, and I haven’t had the heart to break the truth to him.

Suga knew that Tsukishima wasn't one to ask for help, so for Tsukishima to come to him for advice made him happy. He couldn't deny that. He also couldn't deny how nice it's been to see Tsukishima grow with his relationship with Kuroo. From their first dates to the time they moved in together to now their marriage, watching their progress has been nice to see. Suga liked Kuroo. Whenever they hung out together, he could see how Kuroo would bring out another side of Tsukishima.
Honestly, the wedding invitation didn't surprise him at all.
Suga looked around for Tsukishima. He wanted to take a picture with him before the ceremony then one at the reception, that is if he could find him. He turned the corner to see the normal calm Tsukishima, pacing. Suga could understand it was a big day after all. He put his phone in his suit jacket on his way over to him.]
You don't want to overwork yourself too much. You're not married yet.
[To watch Tsukishima be nervous like this was cute. Of course, Suga wouldn't tease him that bad. He could save that for after the ceremony.]
no subject
I’m not overworked, Sugawara-san.
[Blatant lies for 100, Alex…]
B
[Kuroo's returned from talking to someone or other, sitting down beside Tsukki - he's not going to stop thinking of him like that, or calling him that, not right away or perhaps ever - and leaning over to kiss his cheek fondly.]
I mostly bought the cheap ones so you could go through them all and list all the ways they were inaccurate while I listened to you. [Watching and listening to Tsukki being snarky in someone - or something - else's direction is one of Kuroo's greatest pleasures. It's even more fun when Kuroo can join in, when it's a subject of mutual disapproval, but with dinosaurs Kuroo is content to just listen. It's genuinely impressive how extensive Tsukki's knowledge is, and positively adorable how passionate he is about it.]
no subject
[But he clearly doesn’t have anything against it, or else he would have been complaining for all the years that they’ve been dating each other. Well, that fact, and the fact that he’s still unable to wipe away that trace of genuine fond happiness away from his face, even when his smile shifts slightly to become a smirk.]
Anyway, Tippett-san isn’t my favorite. It’s a vintage lovechild of antiquated knowledge and Hollywood artistic license during a time when all dinosaurs were painted with the “terrible lizard” brushstroke. He's just handy.
[He nudges the little rubber dino with his pinky.]
My favorite is the T-Rex that was beaten and fake-dead during your proposal, for exactly those two reasons.
[Tsukki, you petty fucking crow, will you never stop being bitter over that single scene in an animated movie?]
no subject
[At the answer, Kuroo grins broadly.] So, would you simply not have married anyone who didn't know you well enough to know your feelings about a match-up between a T-rex and a stegosaurus, or did that actively help getting you to say yes?
no subject
[But then his eyes slide to him slyly as he raises his eyebrows.]
By the way, I know what you took.
no subject
no subject
Of course you don’t. And you absolutely didn’t just prove you’re worse of a thief by what you just took off of my plate.
no subject
[You don't joint own plates of food, Kuroo. But judging by the delighted tone with which he reminds Tsukki they're married, he's probably just looking for excuses to underline that fact at every available opportunity.]
no subject
[He’s smiling against as he looks at his now husband, and he doesn’t even realize how much.]
I think you’re just making an excuse to steal my food, honestly.
no subject
[Kuroo loves that smile, to the point where he actually reaches out to brush a thumb along Tsukki's lips like he's trying to memorize it by touch.] You know, you're even prettier today than usual. I'd say that's me being completely biased, and on any other day it'd probably be true, but...I think it's the smile.
no subject
[And what he’s getting into is apparently buying strawberry wedding cake for their anniversary for as long as they live, or at least so Kei has been promised, and he’s waiting with amused but bated breath to see if his new husband really does carry it out.]
[While he’s expecting cake in their future, he’s not expecting the gentle touch to his mouth, and he blinks at Kuroo until those words come out. Immediately, he’s flushing and batting it away. The smile is still not entirely gone.]
And I think it’s you letting the romantic atmosphere go to your head. I’ve smiled before.

After all those times where he asked Kenma what he should do or if he should go for it, they were finally here. Kenma wasn't sure why Kuroo asked him for any advice when he didn't know what to do. Despite the otome games he had, that Kuroo wasn't supposed to find, he wasn't the best about the real thing. But he was there to lend an ear for his best friend and a pat on the shoulder. Sometimes it felt like Kuroo would ask him again how to ask Tsukishima out, now they were married.
Honestly, it didn't feel like that much time has passed.
Kuroo offered him the position of best man, but he turned it down. It's not like he didn't want to support him, he just couldn't deal with all the duties the best man had to endure. He gladly gave the position to Bokuto, who would do much better at it. However, he did help out behind the scenes with whatever he could. He wrote a speech too.
Oh, that's right who did he give this to?
Well, when the time came he would give it to the right person.
Kenma just hoped it sounded alright. He's not used to being so open about his emotions like this.]
Groom #2 - Kuroo Tetsurou [OTA]
Granted, what with Kei smiling so genuinely today, and that being such a rare occurrence, probably everyone is having a hard time tearing their gaze from this natural phenomenon.
Also, while Kei's getting married is undoubtedly a shock to many, the reverse isn't at all true. Anyone who knows Kuroo probably saw this coming a mile away. He'd been...fairly promiscuous before meeting Kei, never getting into serious relationships, so once he had settled into his relationship with Kei, that should have been a clear sign. Add to that the fact that Kuroo almost always gets what he wants, pursuing it doggedly with all of his energy, and probably Kuroo's entire family (down to the distant cousins) and every volleyball team Kuroo's ever been on could have told Kei he was doomed.
Kuroo himself hadn't always been sure, though. Outside Yamaguchi and Kei's own family, he knows better than anyone how deep Tsukki's issues run. (And to him, even now that Tsukki's name has changed, Kei will always be Tsukki. Partly to keep teasing him - the name is even more aggravating and makes even less sense now, which only recommends it - and partly because Kuroo can't help but love the nickname he dated Tsukki under.) Kuroo had plenty of moments - all the way up to them standing at the altar, exchanging vows - where he hadn't been sure if Kei's feelings for him would be stronger than his fear of investing himself emotionally in anything.
Now, though? There's no more room for doubt left, and Kuroo's eyes when he looks at his husband aren't just softened by affection, but by wonder. Kei loves him more than all the fear and paranoia and reluctance his neurotic brain could muster. That fact is borderline unbelievable, and to Kuroo it's the most amazing thing in the world.
Kuroo's considerably more gregarious than his husband, of course. It's easy to find him, though it's harder to get his attention one-on-one. Especially since he's - understandably - keeping nice and close to his husband.]
A - Pre-Ceremony Jitters
[Kuroo and Tsukki have separated briefly before the ceremony begins - not out of any special considerations, but out of the wisdom of their friends and family. Both of them are being given room to have their own pre-marriage panic attacks.
Outwardly, Kuroo seems to be holding together quite well - or at least he's not as blatant as Tsukki's pacing. But anyone watching him will note that he's constantly moving around, sitting down only to jump up again, fiddling with things, checking his suit, checking himself in mirrors, talking a little too quickly and a little too loudly. His anxiety isn't perhaps taking as classic and stereotypical a form as Tsukki's, but that's not to say it's subtle.]
B - The Reception
[The newlyweds are both much more relaxed with the marriage having been accomplished, and mostly seem to have returned to their usual behavior - including heckling each other mercilessly, as seen with Kuroo teasing Kei about the cake. Kuroo's just undertaken a harrowing but successful mission - while Kei was busy talking to Yamaguchi - to poach the cat cake topper and one whole strawberry from the top tier of the cake that Kei's claimed for himself, and is looking equal parts furtive and triumphant, like he's going to hold them for ransom. If anyone thought that marriage would mature Kuroo, they're clearly going to be disappointed.
Feel free to approach him and ask him what he intends to do with his spoils. Or, you know, offer congratulations like a normal person.]
C - Something Else
[Perhaps you catch him at some other time in the festivities. Normally he'd be pouncing on the people he likes best, but today he's so preoccupied that his friends are going to have to come to him.]
