[He cannot even believe- ]

[Except no, he can. He can believe that the demon is so brazen and ridiculous that, even after all he's done, he will still try to press at Chikusa's buttons to see if he can get farther and farther. Well, not this time.]

[Chikusa watches him with a purposefully neutral stare, most of his face still hidden by the pillow as he doesn't move even when Mukuro gets closer and closer. It's only when the demon is settled besides him that Chikusa finally shifts. Taking the pillow loosely in one hand, he sets it on his lap as he pushes himself up. Coolly, he looks down at Mukuro.]

If you insist.... [Reaching over, he carefully takes the demon's chin between thumb and forefinger.] Then...

[And that's about the time he suddenly takes his pillow and smashes it into the side of Mukuro's head.]

You. Should. Let. Me. Rest. Like. I. Said. I. Wanted. To.

[Is each word punctuated by a pillow thwack as he shifts both hands to holding it? You bet.]

[One minute Mukuro was as blissful as a kitten having its chin scratched, and then the next he was being attacked out of nowhere even though he had done nothing wrong. Letting out a slight yelp in shock, he did his best to block the priest's assault, torn between laughing and getting angry.]

You're more than welcome to- gah! Rest! I won't stop you!

[He went to grab the pillow, hair in completely disarray, settling on laughing as always.]

Don't tell me you're going to act like this when you get cranky on our road trips, priest.

[kokuyoyo]

[As the pillow gets caught, that seems to be the trigger to destroy the rest of his energy, and Chikusa flops back onto the mattress sideways with a huff. His own hair is a mess as well as it settles around him, half from all the activity and half from when he'd been hiding under the pillow himself.]

...It depends. Do you plan on getting us hungover while we're on that road trip?

[Relinquishing his grip on the pillow, he lets his hands curl up by his head. Here he thought he'd been making progress... but after beating the demon with a pillow, all the activity has gone and made him feel a bit ill again. His eyes drift halfway shut, although he doesn't dare stop watching the demon completely.]

[possedere]

[Taking the priest's deflation for the victory that it was, Mukuro only smirked at him smugly, pressing the pillow underneath his own head, yawning slightly.]

I've learned my lesson.

[Namely that if he was going to drink, he should eat more and take medicine before he did so. He had missed out on an opportunity he wasn't sure he was ever going to get again, and that knowledge made him frown a bit, brow furrowed. Not to mention, while he could be slothful, he hated to waste a whole day without planning to do so. Most likely he should leave now to let the priest get over his anger, but the bed was comfortable and the priest looked like he was going to nod off any moment.]

Get some rest, priest. In thanks for yesterday and today's meals, I'll behave.

You're staying here...?

[That seems to rouse him a little more, eyes opening wider and as he stares. He's.... not sure how he feels about that. Even if the demon actually holds true to his promise- a fact that he's not sure about considering how he broke their first deal together- it's....]

[In the same bed, sleeping together.... In an entirely different way from sex, it seems intimate.]

Your bed is comfier.

[It was said almost petulantly, and then as if recalling he was missing something vital, he got up immediately. He headed back to the kitchen where he had left the blanket, wrapping it back around himself before returning to the bedroom, yawning slightly.]

No need to be so stiff, priest.

[He scooted back over to him, offering some of the blanket.]

....You should know I've never shared my bed with anyone.

[Not even as a child. Where some children might run to their parents when frightened, or sad, or having nightmares, Chikusa had never dared to. Foster homes hadn't let him believe in that kind of reliability, and then, when he did stay somewhere for longer than a few months.... He hadn't wanted to give any reason to discard him.]

[So he's hesitant as Mukuro settles on the bed besides him and the offer of a blanket. After a moment, he accepts it, uncertainty writ all across his face as he curls up on his side facing the demon.]

[Perhaps it was because the priest had been unflaggingly honest about what had to be a terrible thing to admit to a demon who exploited any vulnerability or because Mukuro wasn't warm enough to be comfortable in his vessel, but he inched closer, tangling their feet together. Of course he had known just how far in the priest was letting him in, not just when it came to his body, but his home and his emotions. Instead of the usual victorious feeling that would wash over him at this realization, there was a sharp pang of anger. Anger that despite what a good and selfless man Chikusa Kakimoto was, he had been shunned and left alone by the humans he lived to serve. Detestable, every last one.

If the priest wasn't ripping out of his skin at the closeness, Mukuro reached forward to entwine their fingers next.]

I know.

[For once, it wasn't smug. He almost sounded tired, if anything. He let out a small yawn afterwards, curling up as close as he dared, eyes already sliding shut.]

You'll have to tell me what you think about it when you wake up.

[Times like this are the worst. When the demon isn't toying with him, or seducing him, but simply... being there. Almost as if he's a normal person instead of a creature of sin. It makes Chikusa feel as if he's seeing something he shouldn't be when that voice goes soft and tired, when the touches he's given aren't sly but no less intimate.]

[Times like this make him wonder if perhaps the demon truly could keep him, and if it wouldn't be so bad.]

[Such thoughts make his heart ache. For a second, he can only lay there with their limbs tangled together, breath frozen and eyes wide, before he presses his face further into the mattress and lets his hair spill out of place and across his expression. As much as he knows he should, he doesn't dare let go, and instead only lays there listening to the slow breathing of the man sharing his bed.]

[It's hard to say for how long he can't help but stay awake, listening to it, before his body finally gives into sleep.]

[...Now to see which of them wakes up before the alarm.]

[Fortunately or unfortunately, Mukuro didn't have any time to lord this victory over Chikusa, at being allowed to stay in his bed and his home for another night. He was still feeling ragged and exhausted, and he was out like a light for most of the night.

He only managed to rouse himself when the alarm was about to go off because his stomach was grumbling. Unhappily, Mukuro curled up closer to the priest, burying his face underneath his chin.]

Hungry.

[If that didn't wake him up, he was going to run a hand along his side, light at first, then a bit more insistent.]

[Fortunately or unfortunately, it seems like Chikusa has adapted to sleeping with another person quite well. Enough that he's practically curled around Mukuro, and barely seems to notice when he nudges all the closer.]

[In fact, it does take the insistent press of his hand on his side before Chikusa's eyes blearily open, and he makes a small indistinct noise.]

Mrr?

[possedere]

[That noise wasn't satisfying in the least, even if it was a bit endearing. Mukuro nudged underneath the priest's chin with his nose, tempted to bite at the sensitive skin there, but his word was his word. For now.]

Breakfast.

[His voice was still sleep clogged, but now that he was awakening, his body was demanding certain functions be addressed.

Yawning, he rolled away slightly, putting his feet on the floor. Swearing slightly at the chill of it, he wrapped the blanket around him like a cape again, seemingly unaware or uncaring he was leaving the priest without it as he shuffled slowly back to the kitchen. Tea he could make, and that might do something about his chill and the priest's grogginess.]

[If there's one good thing about the demon's blanket theft, it's that it forces Chikusa to get up and just in time for the alarm to go off. Taking care of that, he sleepily trails behind Mukuro.]

My blanket...

[Heedless, Mukuro goes to start making tea, settling down heavily at the table, yawning as the water starts to boil.]

You can have it back after food.

[When it would be mostly pointless, to have, but it was nice and warm and Mukuro wasn't going to give it up without some proper reparation.]

[Looking distinctly disgruntled, Chikusa nudges Mukuro's chair with his foot before reluctantly going over to his cupboards.]

I made you breakfast last night despite the fact that I would have been justified in just kicking you out....

[Does he like oatmeal? Well that's sure what he's getting as Chikusa grumbles.]

Do you have anything better to do than lounge around my apartment?

[possedere]

And I'm grateful for it priest. I'll pay back the favor when I learn more about cooking.

[Which he was in no real hurry to learn, since it seemed like the priest would dote on him regardless of his mood. The kick to the chair and then the priest heading towards the cupboards was proof of that, and it got a small, soft chuckle out of Mukuro.

The priest's grumblings was only met with a yawn as Mukuro curled up further into the blankets, retracting his feet so that they were underneath him.]

Of course not. Spending time with you is my priority.

[Still, he should probably head home and change clothes and attend to his affairs.]

You have a fully furnished apartment and apparently a bus pass... Shouldn't you be doing some sort of work to ensure you keep those?

[Then again, he has a feeling down that route lies a whole lot of things he doesn't want to know about.... Well, it's too late. Sighing as he gets the oatmeal ready, with little berries included, Chikusa focuses on what's in front of him.]

[That includes the tea, apparently, as soon as the kettle whistles, and he sets out some mugs.]

I don't remember giving you permission to just help yourself to my pantry either...

Do you really want to know what I do in order to stay here with you, priest?

[Now that Mukuro was waking up fully, there was going to be that sly tone again, no longer softened or muddled by sleep.

Undeterred, he went to put tea bags in both mugs, getting up to grab the kettle. He went to pour the hot water, chuckling softly at the priest's admonishment.]

I forget these need to be replaced. Next time I'll bring the food and enough tea that you won't have to complain any further.

....I'm not sure how I feel about tea bought with sinful money.

[Although, he supposes, any money passing through a demon's hands is sinful by nature. It's not as though he can claim he's completely innocent with the deal they once had...]

[Sighing and with the bowls in hand, he goes back to the table.]

You're leaving after this. I don't want you in my apartment unsupervised and sober.

[possedere]

You've drank tea brewed by these sinful hands.

[Mukuro didn't look too too offended though by the priest's protests, stirring in far too much sugar into his mug of tea. He straightened up eagerly as food was brought forward, eyes sparking with interest.

He didn't even seem deterred by the priest's rudeness, flicking his gaze up to his face.]

Worried I'll find all the sketchbooks full of drawings of me?

[kokuyoyo]

[All that red spread across his face? Is just from the warmth of the tea and oatmeal. Really. Fuck off.]

You truly are full of hubris to say that like there's multiple sketchbooks.

[With the bowls set down, he promptly shoves a spoonful into his mouth. Maybe with it occupied, he won't say anything foolish. Anything else, at any rate.]

[It's definitely not the tea and oatmeal, but okay. Everyone was allowed their little white lies every now and then. Mukuro only chuckled in response, eating his meal and drinking his tea rather quickly, getting up first to wash his dishes.]

I'll see you next at the end of the week.

[There was a lot he had to prepare in order to go off gallivanting around the country with his cute little priest. Not to mention his affairs were still in disarray after his absence for a few months. A week didn't seem like a good enough timeline to get everything back into order only to leave again, but Mukuro was nothing if not efficient and talented.]

[And here he was certain that he'd be the first one done, with the demon taking his sweet time to vex him as usual... Chikusa blinks a little in surprise as the demon actually goes to do the dishes, pausing in his own meal.]

...I'll call you before I come to pick you up.

[Sure enough, the week passes by uneventfully with him taking care of everything that's necessary from his lease to the apartment plants to packing. Yet he still can't help but be nervous as he picks up the phone one morning, outside with his car packed with enough clothing and religious items to last him along with some food for the road. Taking a breath, he pulls out his phone.]

Are you ready?

[The week passed far too quickly for Mukuro's tastes. A few of his plots had advanced in organic and interesting new ways, but along the parameters he had set for them. A few though, had strayed disastrously. He managed to salvage a few, but for ever plot that he righted back on course, another one had to be shelved. He had been far too careless and emotional when he had went out to slay demons for an unspecified time, and the out of character act frustrated him. Some of those plans had been in the works for years now, and because of an unspecified possible danger to Chikusa Kakimoto, all of his hard work had been burned to the ground.

Having to sleep and eat proved to be a large time sink as well, and Mukuro had forgotten he could lose consciousness if he avoided sleep. He had almost forgotten why he was on such a mad time crunch to get all of his affairs in order when he saw the priest's name flash across his phone.

A good 34% of his plans still needed to be tidied up, but he supposed he could tend to them on the road when the priest was busy working. Quickly, he started gathering clothes and necessities, texting the priest back quickly.]

For you, always. Are you on your way?

[Maybe he had time to throw himself into the shower if that was the case...]

I've just finished putting things in the car. Do you want me to pick up breakfast?

[He's going to be spending a good part of his day stuck inside a confined space with the demon- best to make sure he's fed and not inclined to distraction with his favorite target being Chikusa himself. It's why he's made sure to pack a few other things in his car as well.]
