Let's face it: We all have the urge to do a little exploration every now and then, right? Of course, in real life, we often don't have the option of going anywhere really interesting. Thank God for RP, right?

Okay, so standard set of rules:

1. Post your character/canon. Feel free to pre-set up your scenario if you want, or let someone else RNG it for you.
2. Respond to other posts. Roll two RNG rolls, one for the setting, one for the scenario. (Or don't, that's fine too.)
3. Get exploring! Who knows where you'll end up?
4. Oh, right, have fun. That's kind of an important one.

SETTINGS:

1. Abandoned Mansion: You know, the one at the edge of town, the one with all the creepy rumors? Yeah, there's no way THIS one can go wrong.

2. Factory: Nothing like a little urban exploration to get that blood pumping.

3. School: Seven mysteries of the school, sealed off portion of the building, piano heard playing in the middle of the night, yada yada yada. You know how that works.

4. A Forest: ...or are you just LOST? Go on, admit it. We won't tell anybody.

5. Military Base: We only hope it's an ABANDONED base, or else you have some 'splainin' to do.

6. A Cave: Let's go spelunking! Maybe there'll be a minecart scene.

7. An Ancient Ruin: With ancient secrets, and ancient traps, and ancient animal droppings. Ew.

8. A Dungeon: Not the whips and chains kind. Your standard RPG generi-dungeon. ...okay, we suppose whips and chains can feature if you WANT.

9. Office Building: Hopefully not the kind with those sentient elevators or something. And with fire escapes.

10. Shipwreck: Hope you brought your scuba-diving equipment! If you're in the first three slots of the party lineup, you WILL get wet.

11. Labyrinth: Follow the left wall. No, seriously. It works.

12. Wild Card: Pick one of the above, or make up your own not listed here.

SCENARIO:

1. Rumors: You hear there's a monster or a ghost of some sort hanging around there. But that can't be true, right?

2. You've Been Invited: Either from someone you know or a mysterious stranger, someone has invited you to this strange location. But what could they want?

3. Car Broke Down: Maybe somebody lives over there, honey! ...hahahaha.

4. Hunter/Hunted: Something's been following you. Maybe you can lose them in this place somewhere. Or maybe the danger's actually just gotten worse.

5. It's a Secret to Everybody: You figure you can make a hangout here. Or maybe you and a special someone want somewhere exciting and private to do your thang. Who knows.

6. Where am I?: You just woke up here. You don't remember how you got here. And you have no idea how to get out. Guess you'd better find out.

7. A Prank: Those jerks thought it'd be real funny if they locked you in this place, or ditched you, or whatever. Let's see how much they'll be laughing when you're DEAD. ...or let's not, shall we?

8. Drawn to this Place: You're not sure why, but you're suddenly finding yourself attracted to this place. Something here is calling to you...

9. Treasure!: You hear there's a fantastic treasure somewhere in this place! If you find it, you'll be rich! ...IF.

10. Surveying: You need to check this place out for whatever reason. Research? Surveying? Mapping? Who knows, but it's a perfectly legitimate reason.

need some ideas to get you started? feel free to roll on the random number table:

1. Water-dwelling: You're growing gills, or your skin is turning translucent, or you're sprouting fins, or maybe you're outright turning into some form of sea life. It doesn't matter what you're turning into—what does matter is that you're slowly losing the ability to breathe air, and there's no water in sight...

This can be something other than water, too. Maybe your character can only breathe chlorine gas now. Who knows?

2. Animalistic: You're turning into an animal. Your bones lengthen or perhaps shrink, break, twist, and reform, your teeth lengthen or shorten, and above all, you feel your instincts being overridden. Your senses sharpen; you notice smells you never did before, your vision becomes more sensitive to movement. If you're a predator? Man, these people look mighty tasty. Prey? OHGOD, EVERYTHING IS TERRIFYING. Lizard? Enjoy your new inability to regulate body temperature. Bird? Have fun with the whole beak and hollowing bones. And don't even get us started on insects and arachnids...

Werewolves and other were-creatures can count under this umbrella.

3. Parasitic: Something's inside you, and it's changing you from within, chewing up your insides and altering your thoughts. You're not sure how much longer you're going to be you, and when the parasite's going to take over completely...

4. Demonic: You've been meddling with dark powers beyond the ken of mortal man, and it seems you've accidentally sold your soul. Will you be the traditional kind of demon, horns and hooves, or something far more terrifying and ineffable?

5. Undead: No doubt about it, you're dying, but as you are, something's been altered in you. Maybe you're becoming a vampire—and not the fun kind, either, we're talking ugly, ravenous, and mad. Maybe you're a zombie, or a ghoul, and human flesh looks mighty tasty. Or maybe you're just turning into a ghost bent on vengeance. In any case, death is never fun.

6. Cybernetic: Get captured by the Borg? Strapped to an operating table? Injected with nanites? Whatever happened to you, you're slowly turning into something half man, half machine, your squishy bits being replaced by mechanical components.

7. Lovecraftian: You've heard their song, the terrors from beyond the stars, and even now they sing in your blood as your flesh transmutes into something ineffable and unknowable. You revel in the pain you feel even as you seek to spread it, to herald the end of all things... or maybe worse, you're aware of the transition as your mind becomes not your own.

8. Fusion/Hivemind: You begin to fuse with the first person who tagged you—physically, mentally, or both. Soon, you can't tell who is who, which one of you is the real you, as your thoughts become one. Join in the fleshsong, mortal...

9. No Required Secondary Powers: Congrats! You've been granted some sort of superpower: pyrokinesis, flight, super strength... but you don't have the <a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RequiredSecondaryPowers">required secondary powers</a> to make those abilities useful or pleasant. You aren't immune to the fire you produce, or maybe your bones aren't enough to hold your new, more powerful muscles, or your invulnerability leaves you unable to feel.

10. Plant matter: Something's turning you from a mammal (or... whatever you are) into some sort of plant. You feel yourself slowing down as your skin becomes green and leathery, and you begin to photosynthesize sunlight.

11. Inorganic/Mineral: You're slowly turning into stone, glass, crystal, or some other inorganic but inanimate form. Did you look into the eyes of a basilisk or medusa, or find yourself on the wrong side of a Petrify spell? You don't have much time left before you're left nothing more than a beautiful statue of your old self.

12. Wildcard / pick your own: Pick whatever you like, combine a few options, or make up your own.

Sure, we've all seen the "Morning After" meme. But let's face it: Sometimes waking up in bed next to a total stranger is the BEST possible outcome to a night after too much hair of the dog.

So here's how this meme works:

1.) Pick a character.
2.) Options:

a.) Put your character's name and canon in the header. The person replying will roll on the good old-fashioned RNG, and the scenario can play out that way, OR:
b.) Pick a scenario, and use the header to announce that rather than your character and canon. It is suggested, but not necessary, that you write out the start of your scenario this way.

Your options are:

1.) Obligatory "Wake Up In Bed With Someone" -- Not to steal the thunder of the OTHER meme, but you gotta have this option somewhere.

2.) You're in Jail! -- So much for not having a criminal record. Looks like it's time for a buddy to bail you out.

3.) Where Did my Clothes Go? -- This is only mildly awkward. Let's hope you have cover. Or conveniently placed objects.

4.) Where Am I? -- We pray for your sake this one isn't combined with #3.

5.) I'm Pretty Sure I Didn't Have This Last Night -- Excuse me, did anybody misplace a llama? No?

You know, some days you just can't find a meme to save your life. You don't want to think of a scenario for your meme, but you don't like any of the ones that are up right now either! Or maybe you just want the random shenanigans that are involved with a single roll of the di -- er, random number generator.

This meme is different. Or rather, it's the same, but all together at once.

It's pretty simple, really. The following list was compiled by the charming players at the currently defunct Planeocracy RP. You can approach it one of two ways:

1.) Post with your character and canon, along with any restrictions you might have.

2.) Post the SCENARIO in your header line and let any interested parties join you.

Note that you do not actually HAVE to roll for this; if you see a scenario you like on the list, go for it.
