If she's the human, her story hasn't changed any. If she's the mer, she's most likely still a nerdy/techy-type because I can't picture her as anything but. Alternately (or additionally), she has some kind of plant-related magic deal going on.

Any of the prompts are fine, just maybe poke me if RNG has no chill and throws down an 8.]

[ Hunk may have been a merman, but the sea never really like home to him. Yes, he loved his family, but not the environment. The land - earth and soil; all that - just felt more right. And now, even if just for a couple of weeks so far, he has the chance to live his dream.

Only... Things on land may be completely awesome, but they're difficult to adjust to! Even things as seemingly simple as walking. In fact, he's still stumbling into people... A lot. ]

[Pidge had heard all the stories, of course. Pretty much everyone had grown up with some version or another of the creatures that lived in the sea that sometimes resembled humans. Whether or not her parents had decided to tell her in an attempt to keep her away from the water she had no idea, but it had yet to work in the fifteen short years of her life.

Unfortunately, she'd never actually seen a mermaid. And it hadn't been for lack of trying, either. She spent more time than her family was probably comfortable with just... doing things by the water. What probably bothered her the most was that she couldn't even say for sure why she was so determined to meet one, but she was willing to brush it off as simply being curious if anyone asked. Except nobody ever did.

But after yet another uneventful afternoon at the beach, she was pretty close to admitting defeat for the moment. It probably didn't help that she was getting hungry, because she might have actually been paying attention to where she was going if she wasn't preoccupied with trying to decide what to do about food. As it was, she was so busy considering her options that she somehow managed to walk right into someone.]

Um... sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going.

No! No, no, that was all me!

[ Hunk was so quick to take the blame that he didn't think ahead to the fact that he had no reason he could offer up as to why he was so shaky on his feet. He blushed a bit, then quickly introduced himself to move the focus on. ]

I'm Hunk! Are you okay?

[Her eyes went a little wide when he apologized because whoa. She hadn't been expecting that. But she couldn't even be upset at him when he looked so embarrassed.]

I think we should just agree that it was on both of us. [And she can't but smile at that. At least he wasn't mad.]

It's nice to meet you, Hunk! I'm Pidge. And I'm okay. [A pause and then-] Are you?

Hey, Pidge. Nice to meet you, too. And uh... Yeah! I'm pretty sure I'm fine.

[ It can be hard to tell, with this new, human body - but really, it's not all that different. ]

[It was really the way he worded it that had her confused, because she hadn't legitimately expected him to not be fine after she'd walked into him like that. She wasn't exactly big or terribly strong. So when he seemed a little skeptical, she took the opportunity to look him over.

And after a probably-longer-than-strictly-necessary pause, she shrugged and shot him a smile.]

I'm not really a doctor, but you seem fine to me!
