[She may look demure and delicate, but the way she tore into the fish was all animal, her tail flicking and small chirrs sounding in her throat. Once she was done she licked her hands clean, looking up at the human with a pleased expression.]

That was delicious! I've never had a fish like that before!

[He chuckled faintly. There was something endearing about her actions, but she probably didn't care for his opinion.]

I could cook up the other one if you want some more.

[Oh geez look at the way she brightened up. Her tone has shifted as well, much more higher in tone and almost with a trilling lit to it.]

Of course. Give me a few minutes to get that ready.

[Oh no, that was cute. He managed to stifle his blush and stood up, taking both plates with him.]

[She smiled as he takes to plates away, and settled back down into the tub. That fish had been so good... and he'd made it just for her. Just like he had bandaged her up. And all just because he had seen her hurt?]

[She sank beneath what water was there, pondering.]

[He wouldn't try any different seasonings and prepared the fish similarly. Once it was all cooked up, he returned to the bathtub and set it down close to her.]

Here you go. One more cooked fish fillet.

[Marinette smiled as he entered the bathroom, and when the plate was put back down she reached for it. Knowing what to expect she ate this one slower, taking her time with a bite. She swallowed it down, before pausing, thinking.]

You... you're really doing all this just for me? For no other reason?

[Patiently, he waited again, but eventually turned his eyes to the painting. He really shouldn't stare... At her question, he looked back.]

Yeah. You needed help.

[Her fins angled down a bit, and she shifted in the water. She looked down at the fish in her hands, mouth in a small frown. Really, he was being so kind... it was so unexpected that it caught her off-guard.]

[Slowly, she looked back up at him and offered a small smile.]

[He frowned though when her fins drooped. She looked upset; did he do something? Was the fish not agreeing with her?]

Huh? O-Oh... you're welcome. Uh... are you still hungry?

[She paused, trying to think over her words, before she spoke up again.]

I... may have been too harsh before. You're... the first human I've really interacted with, and you're very kind.

[If she was sure. He should probably leave her then to rest.]

... No, it's okay. You have a right to be harsh. I know the legends... and I know the stories. Hopefully, this is the only time you ever need help from one of us.

[He did have a point; it was best if humans didn't know merfolk existed, and would be best to keep their interaction limited. Still...]

[She shakes her head, sinking back down into the seawater.]

[When he gives her his name, she gasped, perking up in surprise. A faint pink flush dusted her cheeks.]

T-That's your name? Your real name?

Uh, yeah. I don't really have another game to give to you.

[Wow. He... just gave her his name, just like that? And her Sight, blurry as it was from blood loss, could see no ill intent in his soul. He... He really was just being nice...]

[She looked down, her face still pink, but there was now an awed expression on it. Her tail flicked and her fins flared a bit, but overall she looked shocked... and oddly touched.]

[She seemed okay with it. He smiled faintly and nodded.]

You're welcome. Rest well...

[She didn't give her his name he noted, but that was okay. Standing up, he soon turned and left.]

[As he turned and left, Marinette settled into the tub, both to rest and ponder over the strange human who had taken her in.]

[It took some time. A week's time in the human's... no, in Adrien's home, resting and healing. While there she learned a few things about humans; how they cooked their food instead of simply eating it, how they could make all kinds of things, and many other odd tidbits. It was fascinating and interesting, and every night Adrien checked her bandages to make sure she was healing properly.]

[Eventually, her wounds had healed to the point she felt comfortable swimming, and she felt stronger, too. She would have to visit Tikki to get some proper healing magic done, but... this was still a vast improvement.]

[He didn't mean to keep her for much longer than she might feel comfortable with, but he didn't know how long it would take a spirit like her to heal. Apparently, it took a week for her to recover.]

[Fortunately, Adrien made sure she wasn't bored or feeling too restless while she had to stay. He taught her about humans, any questions she might have regarding them and their surface life that she was curious about. Meanwhile, he learned a little more about her - although, he tried to avoid being too invasive. The less he truly knew about her kind was for the best.]

[Today was the day though. Her wounds were well enough that she could go back. It would be lonely without her company, but it had been nice while it lasted. Carefully, he carried her out towards the sea, feeling warm as the day proved to be clear.]

[Marinette hung onto Adrien as he carried her to the water's surface. At once her spirits lifted as the scent of salt and seawater hit her, and her fin swished as an eagerness took hold. Adrien's bathtub had been nice, but she was eager to swim again.]

I'm surprised there aren't any more humans around.

[He saw her fins twitching and noticed just how her demeanor changed. He chuckled under his breath.]

I chose this place because it was secluded... it's my getaway from other humans.

[So humans had time away from their pods too? She hadn't seen anyone come by to visit Adrien...]
