[Mukuro leaned against the doorway, holding one hanger in each hand, eyebrow raised, mouth curved in a smirk. Today was your lucky day since Mukuro was going to give him a choice. Left hand held exhibit a whereas the right hand held exhibit b complete with the bunny ears. It was just going to be that kind of night.]

[Chikusa glanced up immediately at the sound of Mukuro's voice, easing up imperceptibly when he sees the outfits. Oh, it's just this.]

...I'm not sure how either would stay up on my body, Mukuro-sama.

[Of all the bets Fujiko had lost, this one stung the least. Being dressed up or dolled up wasn't exactly losing, and it would give her some sort of look into Oscar's mind ( which undoubtedly was twisted and a dark place, but it wasn't like it would be Fujiko's first time into such a place ).

She crossed the length of the room to sit down on a chair, all prim and proper, legs crossed, spine straight, one eyebrow raised.]

[And it's true. It's a dark, twisted, hostile place to nearly everyone, himself the most. But it's not like that all the time, sometimes he can briefly beat it back. Still, he finds that there's a big difference between making bets and actually carrying them out.

It's not like she's stripping for him or anything like that, but he's... embarrassed. You see, for the past year he's been collecting clothes for her, he doesn't know why. He just thinks they look nice and he stands no chance to wear them. (Everything is in her size, and don't ask how he knows, makes this a lot less creepy. We like to think it all started with that nightie from the Academy. He still has it.)

At her question he asks to be excused for a moment and wheels out a small wardrobe with all sorts of things to wear. Most of them look expensive. (The leather and transparent dresses hidden away, because for some reason he cares about what she thinks of him.)

For the longest time he thought about selling them. He didn't. Not until Fujiko gets inside them. He isn't sure why. It's a disgusting and gross hobby to have.]

I'm short on shoes. But I wanted you to have a selection.

"I don't know about this." He says grumpily, or as much so as he's able to muster. Signless should have seen this coming, it's not as though winning bets are things he does often. Psii can attest to this, which is why he learned not to make bets with the goldblood. Apparently his bad luck runs true with his Disciple as well.

It's just that he likes his RIGHTEOUS LEGGINGS. They're comfortable to travel in and practical (at least in his mind). He's never seen any reason to change them.

Di is looking far too smug - and really, she's so pleased about winning that she hasn't even decided just what she wants to make her beloved wear yet. She's convinced however that it'll be perfect.

Dolorosa probably won't agree, but Dolorosa isn't the one who won the bet!

"No, no, it's going to be fine," she reassures him, not bothering to hide her grin as she sorts through the various bits of clothing she'd 'appropriated'. "Trust me," she adds, looking up at him with a mischievously toothy smile.

"But Di... my coat..." This is literally the entirety of Nepeta's argument. But then, she finds it very difficult to argue with her ancestor to begin with. If Di says she's going to dress her up, well, it's just going to happen.

But she's still staring at her precious coat.

Di has very carefully folded Nepeta's coat for her, and is now wavering between just handing it back or actually going through with this. She can't take it when her descendant gets that sad look on her face.

"We'll keep it safe and then you can wear it again," she promises her. "Maybe even over the costume," she adds, hoping that that will cheer her up a little. She hasn't even tried suggesting that Nepeta takes her kitty hood off too. It would probably be easier to get her to remove her horns.

Signless turns his head to look at his Disciple, the normal bright red of his eyes dulled to rust. Finding and paying for the contacts hadn't been easy. It had taken all of Rosa's considerable skill --and the advantage of her privilege blood colour, which stilled questions quicker than even a full pouch of gold-- to procure them.

Even as he awaits her judgement, Signless has to consciously force his hands down at his sides to keep from reaching up and rubbing his eyes. The contacts stung, managing to feel as if he had coated his eyes in a thin layer of sand paper. Still, he will bear the pain. The region they have to travel through next is well known for its rigid, almost fanatical adherence to the Empire's rules, and he needs the disguise. It isn't even his own safety he is most concerned with. If they were caught, the lives of his loved ones would be as forfeit as his own. It would almost certainly be the culling blocks for Rosa and Di, and Psii would undoubtedly be forced back into those chains they had worked so hard to break him from. And that possible future scares him more than his own death.

Not, mind you, that he is exactly looking forward to that.

"Do you think I'll pass?"

They had worked hard on the disguise. Gone were his leggings and cloak, replaced by a simple outfit, the sort commonly available to lowbloods. The Dolorosa had taken great care to stitch the little rust coloured accents into the fabric, along with the sigil embroidered over his heart. It was a true one too, one of the ones Rosa had been able to recall from her time in the Brooding Caverns. If nothing else, it should stand up to a cursory inspection.

Part of Signless wished the charade wasn't necessary, that he could simply wear his normal clothes. But those would make him stand out as much as his true colours would. The regions they normally traversed (and preached in) were generally backwater enough that he could get away with clothes that did not display any blood colours. It might raise a few eyebrows, but those areas were populated with enough lowbloods with little enough love for the Empire that they let him be. Not this next region though. Hiding his blood colour there would make him stand out as much as displaying the true mutant colour of his blood, and the last thing they wanted was attention.

It's hard to look at him this way.

It's not just the changed colour of his eyes - their brightness dulled down to a look that's simply wrong on his beloved face. It's not the lack of those ridiculous leggings that she both loves teasing him about and loves him in. Not even the fake sign that somehow belittles all that's been taken from him, makes mockery of everything he stands for.

No. It's what it does to him to have to disguise himself this way. If the danger wasn't so great she knows they'd have had a much harder time convincing him, and even though she'll do anything, go through anything to keep him safe...

She still hates seeing him like this.

"Yes, love," she reassures him, cupping his cheek in her hand. "No one will look twice, I'm sure. And one day...one day you'll never have to do this again." It's optimism to the point of foolishness, but she can't not nurse the hope that it might turn out to be true.

[Costume parties were one of Fujiko's favorite activities because it combined many of her adored things: fashion, a rich crowd full of easy targets, and an interesting way to pass the time. The fact that she would have a cute companion didn't hurt, and as she dug through her closet to find a suitable costume for her, she tossed one dress on the bed and then another.]

The first one is cute! The second one you'd have to drink pina coladas all night, but it shouldn't be too terrible.
