Today, this was the closest Snake had been to Usagi in that whole time. He was always just a little curious of the humans he met, and how they walked about on land. It was so strange to him, but also fascinating. They didn't seem to be able to breath under the water, though. He couldn't think of another reason they would take a huge gasp of air before going underwater.

If that was so, he found himself wondering, would it be best to meet one of them while they had their feet on the ground? He knew he felt far more exposed when half or wholly out of the water, even if it felt really great on his more human half to stretch out on a warm rock, so long as he stayed a little in the water to keep hydrated.

He creeps closer again, close enough that he can see her underwater, and then sends some eels to offer themselves to her, wiggling about in the water nearby, just asking to be caught. Again, he raises his eyes up out of the water, hoping to maybe not only get a better look at her face, but to see how she felt about his attempt at a gift. Eels had to be worth a lot with how much the humans seemed to want them.
