After all, Mukuro may be an illusionist, but he never held illusions about himself. Doing so would be the quickest way to be defeated, to lose his power. He knew his strengths and weaknesses intimately, and thus knew how to shield himself and only show what was necessary to be shown. In most cases that was enough, but it was difficult to keep even his worst traits hidden from those who knew them as well as he did.
