The good news is that when Ryohei comes bounding out of the house a few minutes later, he doesn’t seem intent on knocking Ken out and definitely not killing him. Instead, there’s a paper scrunched up in his hand that he glances at, just to remind himself of the basics of the conversation he’d just had. He does learn, after all.

“No,” is Chikusa’s immediate answer, sharper than his usual quietness. Ryohei’s face furrows in a frown.
